STD Infomation

Sexually transmitted diseases like Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, herpes, and HIV can be shared not only through sexual activity, but also during pregnancy, through IV needle sharing, skin-to-skin contact, or breastfeeding.

STDs can be spread through any form of sexual activity. Current STD facts indicate that Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia, and HIV are most commonly transmitted through body fluids. Other STDs (like herpes) are spread through physical contact. Condoms are a helpful resource for preventing the spread of STDS, but they do not completely eliminate the possibility of transmission.

The most alarming aspect of current Cincinnati STD facts is that many sexually transmitted diseases exhibit no signs or symptoms. If you are a Cincinnati area resident who is concerned that you may have contracted an STD, the only way to determine whether or not transmission has actually occurred is through a simple STD test.
